AAMCO Announces The Creation Of AAMCO University Training Center For Franchisees And Employees

Investment in center supports new business and customer service goals

AAMCO, the world’s largest chain of transmission specialists and leader in total car care, is pleased to announce the opening of AAMCO University, a state-of-the-art training facility in Newnan, Georgia.crowdUNIQUE complete card - 2014 - small The center, 30 miles southwest of Atlanta, will provide current and future AAMCO technicians, managers and franchisees with service training through a best-in-class curriculum within its high tech training facility and repair center.

AAMCO President and Chief Executive Officer Brett Ponton, who created the vision for the training center, made the announcement at the National AAMCO Dealers Association convention in Arlington, Virginia on July 4, 2014.

“The quality of the AAMCO technician skill set in the increasingly complex automotive repair industry is essential to providing the best service and experience for the consumer,” says Ponton. “The new training facility and enhanced curriculum at AAMCO University speaks to our commitment of providing first-class service throughout the AAMCO chain, resulting in a great customer experience.”

AAMCO University will house all training activities for AAMCO technicians, customer service managers as well as prospective, new and current franchisees. The main goal of the school is to provide the proper training for the employees to be in position to continually deliver quality service. Additionally, the new curriculum shows the training and progression needed to navigate a successful career path at AAMCO, at any level of employment.

The educational facility will also offer both lecture and hands-on technical instruction for up to 60 people at a time with a theater-style classroom as well as a replicated front office and a simulated repair shop to provide a real-life learning environment. There will also be a call center for both technical and sales questions.

AAMCO University also offers prospective AAMCO franchisees a first look at the operation and its commitment to best practices.

The training facility is next door to AAMCO partner Global Powertrain Systems and its factory, which houses the production of remanufactured transmissions.

The AAMCO University groundbreaking will occur in August 2014, and plans to open the facility are scheduled for January 2015.
